BACKGROUND

There is a fairly even gender balance in Denmark's music schools, while payments to women and gender minorities from KODA and Gramex are still below 10% of the total (cf. Koda's gender statistics 2024). The rehearsal room is a central player on the journey from music school to an active musical life, whether as an amateur or professional musician. The gender balance in the country's rehearsal rooms is 90/10, or even more skewed!

When rehearsal rooms are designed in ways that create security for women and gender minorities, it creates greater courage for expression, co-creation and realization of music. Therefore, RMK UNDER SPILLET is created on a foundation of expectations, wishes and needs from women and gender minorities.

The activities in RMK UNDER SPILLET seek to create balance in musical life as a successful example of inclusion. RMK UNDER THE GAME is an open place for all musicians, so cis-men are always welcome in collaborations with women and gender minorities.
